"A native of Boston, Massachusetts, John Ghanotakis graduated from Bowdoin
College in Maine, way up in the U.S. Northeast. Ghanotakis worked on the
JET Program from 1995-98 in Tokyo. He served as one of the leaders
of AJET for two years.
John worked with Japan’s former international telecom
giant KDD (now KDDI--better known for its AU mobile services),
the former Winstar
Communications
(now part
of pre-paid card giant IDT’s global telecom empire) and KDDIWinstar,
its joint venture with KDDI. He spent several years with Fujitsu working
on SAP projects and other ERP-related projects.
John has provided and
continues to provide project management, market entry, market research and
investor relations consulting services to foreign and Japanese
companies. His work includes, corporate branding projects for several
Japanese blue chip companies, market analysis for a major U.S. Internet services
company,
IT projects for a major U.S. bank, the sale and delivery of Japan-built chemical
tankers for a major European energy company and its business in the Greek
market and corporate communications for a major U.S. beverage company.
John
loves rock climbing, cycling and hiking followed by a long dip in
an outside mountain hot spring with an ice cold drink in hand. He claims to
find some
deep philosophical meaning in Tokyo life, especially while reflecting on
the evening
view of Mt. Fuji tainted in orange and red and the sun setting...."
